Graduate Nurse - EVENING SHIFT - Emergency Nursing

This position delivers hands-on nursing care to inmates with medical, behavioral, or developmental needs. As a Registered Nurse, you will perform the following duties:

Clinical Care: Assess inmate needs, administer medications, perform treatments, and support daily living activities

Health Monitoring: Emergency Response: Deliver first aid, CPR, and other urgent care when needed

Record Management: Complete reports, update electronic health records, and maintain controlled substance documentation

Sterilize instruments and maintain adequate stock in treatment areas

Share information during shift reports and notify staff of medical concerns

Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.

The Department of Corrections is staffed by three work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. These shifts include 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM), 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM), and 3rd shift (10:00 PM to 6:30 AM).

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

PLEASE NOTE: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $89,882.00 (before taxes)

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility
This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.

All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

If you are within 60 days of graduating from a school of nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
