Art Therapist - Mental Health

Provive Wellness is a leading outpatient Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Mental Health treatment program located in Brentwood, Tennessee. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care to individuals struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders.

Provive Wellness is seeking a dedicated and licensed/credentialed expressive arts therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience providing experential therapy activities to individuals with substance use disorders and mental health concerns in an outpatient setting, as well as a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, client-centered care.

The Expressive Arts Therapy Group Facilitator is responsible for leading therapeutic group sessions within the Outpatient Program. They will work closely with individuals who have both substance use and mental health disorders, providing guidance, support, and education to facilitate recovery and wellness. The Art Therapy Group Facilitator will implement evidence-based practices and collaborate with the clinical team to create a supportive environment conducive to healing and growth.

The ideal candidate will also have Clinician experience providing therapy to individuals with substance use disorders and mental health concerns in an outpatient setting, as well as a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, client-centered care.

Flexible work hours needed- This is a role that will ideally provide art therapy groups across all levels of care if possible.

Plan and facilitate therapeutic art group sessions for clients with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to evaluate clients' mental health, substance use, and treatment needs.
• Provide evidence-based therapy services, including creative arts modalities and trauma-informed care.
• Collaborate with other members of the treatment team, including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and case managers, to coordinate care and ensure integrated treatment planning.
• Conduct crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed, providing appropriate referrals and resources for clients in crisis or experiencing acute symptoms.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with state regulations and agency policies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and clinical supervision sessions, contributing to case discussions, treatment planning, and program development initiatives.
• Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in the field of substance abuse and mental health treatment, participating in continuing education and professional development activities as required.

A Master's Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field which includes a practicum in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field and 1 year of clinical experience in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.

Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent licensure in the state of TN is preferred.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience providing art therapy to individuals or groups.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities for substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and trauma-informed care.
• Excellent clinical skills, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and intervention techniques, with a focus on client-centered and strengths-based approaches.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory and agency standards.
• Experience in working with higher levels of care (IOP, PHP).

This position primarily operates in a clinical office environment.

Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, trainings, or conferences.

Flexible schedule may be necessary to accommodate evening or weekend sessions.
