Job Title: Phlebotomist IJob Description

The primary function of a Phlebotomist I is to assist in performing various duties, including troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.

• Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.
• Collect and store specimens, such as blood, urine, or fecal samples, according to established procedures.
• Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
• Attend annual department training sessions.
• Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.

• Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience with blood draw and venipuncture techniques.
• Phlebotomy certification.
• The work environment is fast-paced, typically in a lab or hospital setting. Employees are expected to dress appropriately for a clinical environment and attend annual training sessions to maintain compliance and enhance their skills.

This is a Contract position based out of North Charleston, SC.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
