Part & Full Time Security Officers (Overnight Shifts)

Responsible for maintaining safety and security for an assigned area. Maintains safety and security of patients, visitors, and employees; conducts routine patrols of assigned areas to keep property and persons free from risk; Responds to emergencies, fire alarms, hazardous material incidents. Performs both foot patrol and vehicle patrol of facilities and grounds. Conducts routine patrols on foot or by car of assigned areas; is aware of unauthorized persons, unusual physical factors, and mechanical malfunctions; completes detailed written shift reports as required; inspects buildings for fire and safety hazards; enforces fire and safety rules; participates in fire drills and fire and safety programs for employees; works cooperatively with local fire departments.

assists patients, visitors, and employees with vehicle problems per policy and training.

Provides routine escort and emergent delivery services to campus facilities.

Participates in orientation of new employees and students in fire, safety, and security policies; trains in fire fighting techniques and use of equipment.

Operates security technology equipment including; personal computers, CCTV systems, fire alarm system, access control systems, security alarm systems, and radios.

Performs emergency and hazardous material response services in accordance with training, policy and equipment capabilities.

Performs security and emergency services related to site emergency management plans.

Performs set up duties related to Emergency Operations Center.

Investigates employee, visitor, and patient complaints; works cooperatively with local police departments and authorities.

Responds to requests for assistance involving patients in the assigned locations; assists Life Flight with unloading patients and equipment, as necessary.

Assists and directs patients and visitors to areas within the Medical Center; may provide assistance to handicapped, wheelchair, and elderly persons upon arrival and departure from the Medical Center; Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Geisinger is proud to offer a Security Officer I a $16.24 minimum hiring rate with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $2 shift differentials for evening, nights, and weekend shifts!

Hours: Part Time, 20 hours per week, Rotation (3pm-11:30pm)

Weekends and Holidays rotation

Required Experience: High School Diploma or GED and valid Driver's License

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)

Minimum of 1 year-Related work experience (Required), -Security, Military, Police (Preferred)
