Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Hospitalist Physicians for a locum tenens opportunity in Pulaski, Virginia .

This is a hands-on Hospital Medicine opportunity for physicians who enjoy maintaining meaningful clinical involvement across both the medical floor and ICU. Physicians work alongside an NP/PA during the daytime, manage patients within an 8-bed open ICU , respond to codes and rapid responses, and provide ventilator management within a community acute-care environment.

For Hospitalists who value clinical autonomy, APP support, daytime scheduling, and maintaining critical-care skills , this opportunity offers an engaging practice in Virginia's New River Valley.

Hospitalist Physician Locum Tenens

Day Shift: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

Physician + NP/PA Daytime Coverage

8-Bed Open ICU

Daytime Hospital Medicine coverage runs:

1 Hospitalist Physician

1 Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

At night, an NP/PA provides onsite coverage with a physician available on call.

Multiple scheduling configurations are available based on current coverage needs and physician availability.

Hospital Medicine Practice

Physicians provide comprehensive inpatient medical management within a community acute-care hospital with access to supporting specialties including:

Cardiology

Emergency Medicine

Gastroenterology

Oncology

Orthopedics

Surgery

Women's Health

Behavioral Health

The hospital also provides emergency, diagnostic imaging, cancer, and cardiovascular services.

ICU & Clinical Scope

This opportunity is best suited for a Hospitalist comfortable maintaining an active role in higher-acuity inpatient medicine.

The program features an 8-bed open ICU without a dedicated Critical Care team .

Physicians must be comfortable with:

Hospital Medicine admissions and management

Open ICU patient management

Collaboration with onsite APPs

This is an excellent fit for physicians who want to practice the broader scope of Hospital Medicine rather than work within a highly segmented closed-ICU model.

Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license

Completed Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

Recent case logs and credentialing documentation will be required.

Daytime Physician Coverage – 7:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule

APP Support – Physician + NP/PA daytime model
