Field Service Engineering

Salary: $83,324.8 - 108,160 per year Requirements:

We require a bachelors degree in electronics, physics, engineering, computer science, chemistry, or a related technical discipline, plus 5+ years of experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating analytical instruments; or an advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.

We look for proven experience with complex electro-mechanical systems, ideally high-resolution mass spectrometry instruments.

We need strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills across hardware and software.

Experience mentoring or training others is preferred.

We expect excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build strong customer relationships.

You should be able to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and engineering drawings.

You must be comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with a team.

You need to respond promptly to urgent customer needs.

Proficiency with Windows operating systems, networking, and standard business software is required.

You must follow safety protocols and be able to work in cleanroom environments when necessary.

You should have the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in laboratory settings.

You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

You must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.

A valid drivers license and the ability to travel 80% are required.

Responsibilities:

We install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair analytical and microscopy equipment at customer locations.

We diagnose electronics, mechanical, ultra-high-vacuum, high-voltage, and system-level problems to restore instrument performance.

We provide responsive, professional customer support while meeting service commitments and satisfaction goals.

We train customers on equipment operation, upkeep, and basic troubleshooting.

We accurately document service activities, including installation and service work reports, and submit them promptly through the required system.

We support commercial teams with technical insight, training, and demonstrations.

We manage territory activities such as scheduling, travel planning, parts coordination, and timely communication with customers and internal partners.

We collaborate with internal technical support, service leadership, and cross-functional teams to resolve complex customer issues.
