Work Shift:Varied Shift (United States of America)Scheduled Weekly Hours:0Department:Pediatrics GHS## Overview of Position:Administers skilled direct and indirect patient care to an assigned group of patients. Follows the nursing process of assessment, intervention, reassessment and evaluation while providing care. As a member of the perioperative team, adheres to high standards of patient safety, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Care will be provided utilizing discipline specific standards of care (AWHONN, AAP, ACOG, etc). Demonstrates behaviors and decisions that are in alignment with providing compassionate quality care.**Provides direct patient care in accordance with physician orders in a warm and friendly manner. Utilizes critical thinking to set priorities for patient care. Recognizes, documents, intervenes, and follows up on problems or potential problems utilizing the chain of command. Recognizes and report signs of abuse or domestic violence. Provides leadership while working collaboratively with other care givers on the unit.. Develops, coordinates and presents continuing education regarding newborn feeding for staff and the community (lactation specialist only). Participates in developing and monitoring lactation standards (lactation specialist only). Current Ohio RN License and ADN. Two (2) years of acute care experience. Ability to read, write and explain or describe moderately complex information to other hospital staff. Demonstrates competence in age-specific patient care.
