Job Description

This role focuses on operating and setting up 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills to produce precision components for specialized manufacturing projects. You will work from detailed blueprints and mechanical assemblies, perform accurate inspections, and complete a variety of finishing and preparation tasks to ensure high-quality parts.

Responsibilities

Operate and set up 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills to produce precision parts according to specifications.

Perform complete machine setups, including changing tools, setting offsets, and making necessary adjustments to maintain part quality and efficiency.

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and mechanical assemblies to determine machining requirements and sequence of operations.

Inspect machined parts against prints and process requirements using a variety of inspection equipment to verify dimensions and quality.

Carry out deburring, grinding, tapping, finish hand work, cutting stock, and other preparation and finishing tasks as part of the machining process.

Maintain organized work areas, properly handle materials, and follow established manufacturing procedures and standards.

Use proficient math skills to calculate dimensions, tolerances, and adjustments for machining operations.

Demonstrate reliability and self-motivation by consistently meeting production expectations and maintaining regular, dependable attendance.

Coordinate transportation to ensure punctual arrival and adherence to scheduled work hours.

Collaborate with team members and support continuous improvement of machining processes and workflow.

Essential Skills

Experience operating and setting up CNC mills, including 3, 4, and 5-axis machines.

Strong ability to perform CNC machine setup, including tool changes, offset adjustments, and in-process corrections.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and understanding mechanical assemblies.

Ability to inspect parts to print and meet various process requirements using inspection tools and equipment.

Reliable, self-motivated work ethic with consistent, dependable attendance.

Proficient math skills for measurements, calculations, and machining adjustments.

Strong organizational skills to manage tools, materials, and documentation effectively.

Hands-on skills in deburring, grinding, tapping, finish hand work, cutting stock, and related prep and finish operations.

Technical school or apprenticeship program completion, or 3 years of related CNC machining experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with CNC lathe operation is a plus.

Experience in fabrication and working with manufactured components.

Exposure to manufacturing environments and production workflows.

Familiarity with conduit work, pulling wire, and PLC control is beneficial but not required.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing environment focused on producing precision components for special effects and attraction builds. You will work around CNC mills and related fabrication equipment, using standard inspection tools and hand tools for finishing and prep work. The setting is hands-on and shop-based, with typical manufacturing noise levels and activity, and requires appropriate work attire suitable for a production floor.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Monrovia, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
