MilliporeSigma in Burlington, MA, is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join the North America Validation Services Laboratory. This laboratory-based position will report directly to the Lab Manager and provide support across all laboratory departments.

Oversee the decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of laboratory materials.

Keep the sterile material inventory complete and organized, including conducting regular inventories.

Prepare materials for autoclaving, ensuring proper wrapping and labeling. Operate autoclaves and dishwashing machines following established procedures, while complying with all regulatory and company policies regarding sterilization processes.

Load and unload materials into the autoclave for sterilization.

Monitor sterilization cycles to ensure proper operation and effectiveness. Record and document sterilization parameters and results accurately.

Perform biological and chemical indicator tests to verify sterilization efficacy.

Ensure proper storage of sterilized materials.

Future opportunity to manage media sterility and conduct growth promotion tests as well as prepare laboratory media and reagents

High School diploma or GED and 2+ years laboratory experience

Strong communication skills are essential for effectively updating the lab team, VPM team, lab managers, and QA personnel on project-dependent items

Proficient in Aseptic Technique and good laboratory practices

Understanding of Data Integrity and Good Documentation Practices

Ability to adapt to changes in processes, tools, and organizational structures
