Are you a passionate and proactive special education teacher who welcomes, appreciates, and respects all team members? Can you engage students, parents, and the community? Does student achievement data drive your instruction? Can you develop a school culture of pride and high achievement for your caseload kids?

Eastpointe Community Schools is in the business of transforming lives. Our partnership with the Macomb Intermediate School District (MISD), Michigan Department of Education (MDE), and the University of Virginia’s Partnership for Leaders in Education (UVA-PLE) has created a unique opportunity for rapid district turnaround. Part of our continued growth and improvement involves increasing educational expectations, developing a culture of support, and nurturing all students to address academic, behavioral, and interpersonal needs.

Look for Teacher Mentoring, Literacy Coaching, Extra-curricular Activities opportunities, including after-school clubs/organizations, and Grade Level Teams in our schools. We offer 1:1 technology for our students, online programs that support academic curriculum, and multi-grade level field trips. While all schools face challenges, at Eastpointe we all roll up our sleeves and work together to get things done. As a Special Education Teacher in our district, you will work side by side with your principal and other leaders who will help move you and your program forward. You will master and support grade-level content, assessment, and technology support. We pride ourselves on creating a culture of continuous improvement with educators who feel this work is a calling, and where every interaction with students counts.

If you are passionate about the PLC process, inspiring and guiding excellent instruction, using student data, and growing strong relationships with families, students, and our community, we are looking for you! If you want to be a positive and productive member of a special education team, and are looking for leadership opportunities, we want you!
