Travel Nursing Job Details
Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care Registered Nurse

Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract

Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980–$2,080

Three 12-hour shifts per week

Shift: 7:00 a.m.–Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, including Saturday and Sunday

Holiday Requirement: Must work either Christmas or New Year’s Day and participate in the applicable holiday rotation

Unit: 28-bed private-room cardiac stepdown unit

Patient Population: Cardiac patients, dysrhythmias, CVAs, and patients transitioning from intensive care

Documentation: EPIC

Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements
Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania

At least 1 year of recent acute-care or cardiac stepdown nursing experience

Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and independently monitor telemetry

Ability to provide an unexpired driver’s license during the credentialing process

Willingness to float to the ICU in a helping-hands capacity when needed

Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to progressive-care and high-acuity cardiac patients

Interpret telemetry strips and collaborate with the care team to address changes in patient status

Manage patients receiving noninvasive ventilation and high-flow oxygen therapy

Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary team members

Support safe transitions for patients moving from intensive care to the stepdown setting

Complete unit orientation with a preceptor and maintain compliance with clinical and safety standards
