Chart's New Prague, MN location is currently seeking candidates interested in the position of Machinist on the Day Shift.  Chart's Machinist plays a key role in the manufacturing process of Chart's products with the fabrication of parts and tools.

1st Shift: Monday - Friday 5:45am - 2:15pm

Fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines

Machines parts to specifications using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders

Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications

Understands and adheres to established safety and quality procedures

Maintains a clean work area and practices general housekeeping standards

Perform daily inspections and documentation on equipment

CNC programming experience& familiarity with ISO procedures preferred

with assistance

Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of materials

Occasional climbing and working at elevated positions

Exposure to metal cutting, welding odors, welding flash and incidental acceptable limits of x-ray radiation

Possible exposure to chemical odors and temperature extremes

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock.

2+ years of experience as a machinist

• Experience using manual CNC mills and lathes
• 3+ years of CNC Pipe bending experience specifically on schedule 5 and 10 pipe is desired
• Previous press brake or related CNC experience is preferred
• Able to work with both engineering and production staff
• Experience in cost estimating and material needs
• HIgh School Diploma or GED required

23-32 per hour
