Mechanical Engineer IIUnder the direction of the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for carrying out the duties of the Engineering department, including design, detailing, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, and estimating. Primary focus will be on product redesign, cost reduction, and design for manufacturing.Responsibilities:Turn concepts into manufacturable 3D models and generate necessary supporting documentation. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, printers, filing cabinets. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.Preferred Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in industrial design, mechanical engineering or related fieldPrevious experience in industrial design, mechanical engineering or related field.In-depth knowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software, including use of FEA, wire and hose routing, schematics, and PDM.Experience in a production environment.Extensive knowledge of metal fabrication processes, including material selection, sheet metal, welding, fixturing, finishing and assembly.Working knowledge of machine assembly, linkage design, etc.12V Electrical systems, CAN bus, programming logic.Regulatory experience - OSHA, DOT, NHTSA, CFR.Debris/dust collection, material handling, & filtration systems.Travel:Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area and overnight travel may be expected.
