Community Health Center seeking a Family Medicine Physician for a CMO position in Christiansburg, VA (Easy commute to Roanoke or Blacksburg!).

This group has been in place since 1981 and was deemed an FQHC Facility in 2013

Family Medicine Physician - Chief Medical Officer

• Travel to our other local sites will be required.
• The Chief Medical Officer is responsible for providing patient care, working with and overseeing providers and clinical staff to ensure quality outcomes
• Work with medical, behavioral health and dental providers and management to maintain Center policies, procedures and protocols.
• Ensuring Center compliance with Federally Qualified Health Center requirements including responsibility for meeting Clinical Performance Measures.
• This position is 50% administrative and 50% serving patients.
• Strong community mission serving uninsured/Medicaid populations
• 21 total providers across Family Medicine, OB/GYN, Dental, and Behavioral health
• Performs all functions as a family physician in providing direct care to patients
• Participates in and leads morning team huddles, meetings and quality improvement initiatives;
• Participates in the development, execution and review of clinical policies and procedures
• Participates in the review of patient health records and utilization review studies of Center services
• Manages provider staff and nursing leadership;
• Oversees Quality Improvement and Assurance
• Participates in community outreach, marketing, public awareness and speaking engagements representing the Center;

Board Certified / Board Eligible Family Medicine

Ability to hold a Virginia State Medical License

Candidates with at least 5 years of physician experience post residency preferred

Some long-distance travel may be required for training purposes and professional meetings. Local travel is necessary, moving between the our local clinic locations.

Use of personal vehicle is necessary. Mileage is reimbursed for some long distance travel if personal vehicle is used.
