Senior Formulation Chemist
KKT Innovation Labs
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of innovative personal care formulations across skincare, haircare, and body care categories
- Independently design, formulate, and optimize stable, high-performance products from concept through scale-up
- Translate client or brand briefs into technically sound, commercially viable formulations
- Oversee lab batching, prototype development, and iterative testing processes
- Conduct and interpret stability, compatibility, and performance testing to ensure product robustness
- Lead scale-up activities and collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth tech transfer
- Troubleshoot formulation challenges and drive root-cause analysis for product performance issues
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, formulation records, and technical reports
- Stay current on raw materials, emerging technologies, and market trends in personal care innovation
- Mentor and support junior chemists and lab technicians as needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally with QA/QC, regulatory, and production teams to ensure compliance and product quality Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on formulation experience in personal care product development
- Strong expertise in emulsions, surfactant systems, rheology, and ingredient functionality
- Proven experience taking products from concept through scale-up and commercialization
- Deep understanding of stability testing, formulation troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Strong technical problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering market-ready formulations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights
- Experience working in a fast-paced R&D or contract manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Passion for innovation and staying ahead of industry trends in beauty and personal care
