Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and an active MI RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit providing care for patients with pneumonia, heart failure, GI bleed, DKA, AMS, and sepsis
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week with option to pick up additional hours as available
• Every other weekend required
• Float as needed to similar medical-surgical departments, with travelers floated first
• Night shift patient ratios of 1:5-6, no LPNs on nights
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

Active Michigan RN license required

BLS certification required; ACLS preferred

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

At least 1 year of Med-Surg experience required

MS/Tele experience required

Epic charting system experience required

Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

Supervisor-level references required

Proof of flu vaccination required, with exemption requests submitted within 48 hours of signing

Additional Information

Provide nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients with a variety of acute diagnoses

Skills in IV therapy, respiratory support, GI/GU care, neuro/psych conditions, and medication administration are valued

Charge nurse is typically free from patient assignments when fully staffed, but may take patients when short-staffed

No holiday RTO requests accepted, though scheduling may be discussed with the manager

RTO limited to no more than 10 days

Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Previous internal travelers may return after 6 months; previous permanent staff may return after 1 year

Annual self-reported training modules required, completed during orientation
