Nurse Practitioner Opportunity

MedStar Medical Group Anesthesiology is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Acute Pain Service (APS) consulting team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.As part of a cohesive and highly specialized APS team, the NP will play a vital role in advancing pain management practices while working closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary care teams in a hospital setting. This role offers a high-impact clinical experience within a fast-paced, collaborative environment, serving a diverse patient population across a wide range of complex surgical services.

New graduates are welcome to apply. Interested nurse practitioners with FNP or AGACNP certification are encouraged to apply, as well.

The Nurse Practitioner will function as a clinical consultant within a multidisciplinary team, managing both acute and chronic pain for hospitalized patients. Performing histories and physicals (H&Ps), interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing care plans

Documenting clinical findings in progress notes

Providing pain management education and serving as a clinical resource for healthcare team members across the institution

Position will include mandatory 6-8 weeks of initial, comprehensive training at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.Full-Time Schedule (1.0FTE): Monday Friday, (5) 8s, daytime hours from 9:00am-5:00pm; no weeknights, weekend or on-call responsibilities.
