The UW Medicine - Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology in Seattle, WA has a fantastic opportunity for a Phlebotomist with the Specimen Processing Team at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) - Northwest.

UWMC is an acute care academic medical center with two campuses: 1 hospital in Seattle and Washington State since 2012 (U.News & World Report) and nationally ranked in seven specialties, UWMC prides itself on compassionate patient care as well as its pioneering medical advances.

As a phlebotomist, you will serve our patient community directly by performing blood draws and providing instruction on proper collection of urine specimens. Additionally, you will support students and new employees by providing orientation and training, in addition to other duties outlined below.

Per Diem

Day Shift

Prepare patient and collection equipment.

Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.

Instruct patients on proper collection of urine specimens.

Perform laboratory testing procedures.

Interact with patients and their families, as well as departmental and hospital staff.

Assist in the orientation and training of students and new employees

High school graduation AND completion of a phlebotomy course.

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Legal Requirement: Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy Certification (MA-P) with the Washington State Department of Health OR obtain the MA-P within 60 days of start date.
