This candidate will use their knowledge of the general concepts of civil, transportation, and traffic engineering in developing transportation design and planning solutions.Responsibilities:* The development and design of traffic engineering projects, preparing traffic studies, signal timing plans, operations analyses, microsimulation modeling, and preparing technical reports.* Preparing project plans and drawings for various projects including traffic signal design and intersection improvements.* Perform research, obtain traffic data for studies, prepare calculations, and conduct transportation analyses.* Preparing and collaborating technical activities on assigned projects and managing project budget and schedule.* Perform field work as directed by a senior engineer.# **Qualifications*** Bachelor’s in civil or transportation engineering* Licensed Professional Engineer (P.in the state of Texas* 3+ years of experience* Basic experience using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, Synchro, VISSIM and TRANSCAD* Familiar with concepts and standards of the MUTCD, HCM and AASHTO Geometric Design* Ability to participate and collaborate within a project team setting* Self-directed and ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal oversight* Solid time and budget management, organizational, and problem-solving skillsPreferred:* Knowledge of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) applications and design# **About Freese and Nichols**At the heart of our culture is our LEADS values (**L**earn continuously, **E**ngage as family, **A**ct with integrity, **D**eliver quality, and **S**erve always).
