Mammographer - Radiology Mammography

Job Description The Mammography Technologist works under the supervision of leadership. The mammography technologist works in direct patient care performing screening and diagnostic mammograms. Works under the direction of the Radiologist during breast biopsies, needle localizations and other interventional procedures related to the breast The Mammography Technologist reviews and evaluate images for quality diagnostic purposes. Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients.

Performs/Critiques patient screening and diagnostic mammography examinations requested by patient and/or provider.

Positions patient and equipment, uses appropriate technical factors to obtain mammogram images.

Performs contrast enhanced mammography and automated breast ultrasound for dense tissue evaluation. (Setting up sterile field and arrange all necessary instruments and supplies for the radiologist. Assisting the radiologist in skin preparation and needle placement. (Review and complete patient exam and charges within the radiology information system.

Performs quality assurance procedures and maintains records to accommodate regulatory guidelines.

Work Experience Six months mammography experience - Preferred
