Transportation Engineer 9-12 (Bureau of Field Services)

Our team is seeking a Transportation Engineer for our Bureau of Field Services Team. This position serves as a senior level engineer serving as an engineering resource for the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Operations Section in the Transportation System Management and Operations (TSMO) Division. This position performs assignments in Congestion and Reliability to enable safe, reliable and seamless movement of people, goods, and services through coordinated application of programs, technologies, and business processes by collaborating with public and private partners across modes and jurisdictions to optimize resources and performance. This position provides operation support to the ITS Operations Section, regions, and Transportation Service Centers (TSC's).

The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate at the entry (9) level through the maximum rate at the advanced (12) level. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate work schedule requests for this position may be considered.

Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering.

Possession of a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering preferred.

Transportation Engineer 9 No specific type or amount is required.

Transportation Engineer 10 One year of professional engineering experience involved in transportation systems and programs equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 9.

Transportation Engineer P11 Two years of professional engineering experience involved in transportation systems and programs equivalent to a Transportation Engineer, including one year equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 10.

Transportation Engineer 12 Three years of professional engineering experience involved in transportation systems and programs equivalent to a Transportation Engineer, including one year equivalent to a Transportation Engineer P11.

Transportation Engineer 9 - 12 Possession of a registered professional engineer license as required by the State of Michigan may be substituted for 6 months of experience at the Transportation Engineer 9-12 levels. MDOT does not participate in E-Verify and does not sponsor visa applications.
