Join our team and help shape the future of Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) systems. As an Senior Electrical Engineer you'll play a key role in supporting and advancing Collins' traffic and weather-related avionics products. In this role, you'll work closely with a small team of experienced electrical engineers, taking ownership of complex hardware challenges across both sustaining engineering and new design activities.
You'll apply your expertise to ensure our products continue to meet stringent aviation standards while helping shape future upgrades and enhancements. This position offers the opportunity to influence technical direction, collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines, and contribute to the success of both ongoing programs and new business pursuits.
Interpret, generate, and update complex electrical schematics, board layouts, and mechanical drawings.
Develop and document hardware requirement changes while managing hardware baselines through proper tools and processes.
Design, analyze, test, qualify, integrate, and document high-complexity hardware, including work across multiple Engineering Change Orders.
Collaborate closely with mechanical, systems, and manufacturing engineering to ensure cohesive product development.
Apply Collins processes, tools, and best practices to drive product quality and customer satisfaction.
Participate in integration, pre-qualification, and qualification testing for moderate-complexity products and subsystems.
Support production teams, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical leadership as needed.
Contribute to engineering estimates for electrical design efforts and support bid/schedule development.
Review defect trends, identify root causes, and recommend design or process improvements.
Proactively identify and communicate technical issues, escalating to project leadership when necessary.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Person - Military contract stipulates the candidates must be U.Proven experience in an electrical design engineering role.
Hands-on experience debugging and testing complex electrical hardware.
Extensive experience in at least one electrical hardware discipline such as digital, analog, mixed-signal, power, or RF design.
Familiarity with signal-processing simulation and analysis tools such as MATLAB or Simulink.
Experience with configuration management tools (Agile, JIRA, Git, Subversion).
