The Dell Medical School in conjunction with Ascension Texas, is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant to be part of the Institute for Cardiovascular Health. This individual will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to serve the growing need of the regional adult population to deliver world class adult cardiovascular and thoracic surgical care.

The Dell Medical School in conjunction with Ascension Texas, is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant to be part of the Institute for Cardiovascular Health. This individual will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to serve the growing need of the regional adult population to deliver world class adult cardiovascular and thoracic surgical care.

In collaboration with supervising physicians, provides for the expansion of individualized healthcare services by diagnosing and treating adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions. The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) will primarily staff the ICU but will also cross cover the telemetry ward providing patient-centered, competent, compassionate, and professional care in both out-patient and in-patient settings.

Operating Room based Physician Assistants will primarily work assisting in the cardiovascular operating room. Performs health assessments, screening, and patient care.

Provides direct treatment and management of conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources. Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning health conditions, treatment options and community resources.

Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

Physician's Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing.

Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care.

Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing.

Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team.

Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished)

May work around standard office conditions

Job Summary: The Pediatric Cardiac ICU at Medical City Children's Hospital is seeking a certified acute care pediatric nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join its dynamic Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care team.

Master's degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate Program

Pediatric Nursing Care Board Acute Care credential (CPNP-AC)

Experience in a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit or a comparable high-acuity setting is preferred, but not required

Availability to participate in rotating night and weekend coverage
