The Director of Resource Development is responsible for leading, planning, and executing a comprehensive fundraising and revenue strategy to support the mission and long‑term sustainability of the organization. This role oversees all fundraising operations, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, annual campaigns, special events, grants, RFP submissions, donor stewardship, community engagement, and revenue tracking.
The Director of Resource Development provides strategic oversight to the Resource Development Coordinator and ensures fundraising initiatives align with organizational goals, revenue targets, compliance requirements, and brand positioning.

Establish short‑term and long‑term revenue growth plans.
Diversify funding streams through individual giving, corporate sponsorships, foundations, grants, and special events.
Present fundraising strategies, performance metrics, and revenue forecasts to Executive Leadership and the Board of Directors.
Provide strategic oversight and coordination of major fundraising events, including Youth of the Year Dinner, Annual Golf Outing, Family Block Party, and other fundraising initiatives.
Cultivate event sponsors, donors, and community partners.
Oversee event budgets, vendor negotiations, contracts, and post‑event financial analysis.
Grants, RFPs & Institutional Funding
Identify and pursue foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities.
Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, elected officials, foundations, and community stakeholders.
Lead the writing, review, and submission of grant applications, proposals, and RFP responses.
Develop and maintain a grant calendar to ensure timely submissions and reporting.
Ensure compliance with grant requirements, deliverables, and reporting obligations.
Collaborate with program leadership to collect outcome data, success stories, and program impact information.
Corporate & Community Engagement
Serve as the primary liaison for corporate partnerships, sponsorship opportunities, and volunteer engagement initiatives.
Develop customized sponsorship proposals and partnership opportunities.
Strengthen organizational visibility and brand awareness throughout the community.
Represent the organization at fundraising events, networking opportunities, community meetings, and public engagements.
Ensure proper documentation of pledges, sponsorships, grants, and donations.
Monitor fundraising metrics and prepare performance reports for leadership and the Board.
Supervise, mentor, and support the Resource Development Coordinator.
Establish departmental goals, priorities, and performance standards.
Provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities.

Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive fundraising or development experience.
Demonstrated success securing major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and institutional funding.
Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, donor cultivation, and nonprofit development practices.
Experience with donor management software and CRM systems.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to build relationships with donors, sponsors, community leaders, and stakeholders.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for events and fundraising activities.
The physical demands of this position are consistent with a professional office environment and fundraising event participation. The employee is regularly required to sit, speak, hear, and use hands to operate office equipment. Work is performed in both office and community settings. The position requires frequent attendance at fundraising events, networking functions, donor meetings, and community activities. Evening and weekend work is regularly required to support fundraising and engagement efforts.
