Underwriter or Underwriting Specialist - E&S Property

Zurich E&S is currently looking to hire an E&S Property Underwriter for our Property team in one of the following locations: You will partner with your manager to set a flexible work schedule that supports you, our customers, and our brokers and agents. This role may require you to be visible in the marketplace to meet with our agents and brokers and be in the office/market three days per week.

The E&S Property Underwriter will analyze and underwrite new and renewal business, regularly interacting and facing the market, under limited supervision, utilizing The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework within delegated authority levels on assignments of moderate technical complexity ensuring a high-level service to customers. Serving as a customer industry advocate with a focus on improving the customer experience by understanding their risk and offering the best end to end solution for their insurance needs.

Using a disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, risk assessment and pricing

Using risk insights, data, and models to drive informed decisions at point of sale

Market facing and production within the E&S Standard Property group

Administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manual rules

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area

Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area

Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area

Knowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines

Experience with Microsoft Office

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area

Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area

Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area

Knowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines

Experience with Microsoft Office

Bachelor’s Degree with 1 or more years of experience in Underwriting with emphasis on E&S Property Underwriting or Underwriting Support

We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The proposed salary range for the Underwriter is $60,000.00 - $95,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.The proposed salary range for the Underwriting Specialist is $75,000.00 - $125,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
