Our client seeks a Copywriter to develop creative direct mail print copy across products and audiences. The role will collaborate with art directors, creative directors, and marketing partners to translate strategy and consumer insights into effective communications that strengthen the brand and customer experience.

** Contract: 6 months, with potential extension and possible conversion to permanent employment.
Candidate must be sufficiently experienced to work independently with limited supervision .
Strong direct mail copywriting and copy-editing experience .
Approximately 60% new copywriting and 40% copy editing .
Financial services or fintech experience is strongly preferred.
** The position is remote during the contract , but candidates should be based near a Capital One People Centre , particularly because the role could potentially extend or convert to permanent employment.
Target locations:
Excellent copy-editing skills.
Experience collaborating with graphic designers, art directors and other creative professionals .
Ideally, previous experience within financial services or fintech .
Social media copy
Digital banners
General digital marketing without meaningful direct mail experience
Visually focused portfolios without strong writing samples
Candidates unable to demonstrate professional copy-editing experience
Selected travel acquisition campaigns
Candidates with experience writing persuasive consumer acquisition or financial services copy should therefore be particularly relevant.

Candidates should therefore be prepared to speak confidently about their writing process, portfolio work and ability to collaborate within a creative team.

• Comfortable with a 60% writing / 40% editing workload
• Can operate independently with limited supervision
• Financial services or fintech experience preferred
• Do not send candidates simply because they are general copywriters. We need experienced direct mail writers who can show strong professional writing samples, edit accurately, tell a compelling story and operate independently in a corporate environment.

Direct mail + strong portfolio + excellent writing + location near a Capital One People Centre + rate compliance = the target profile.
Produce creative copy for a range of products within the Direct Mail Print channel.
Brainstorm concepts and execute detail-oriented projects while collaborating with art directors, creative directors, and marketing strategists.
Partner with internal marketing and line-of-business stakeholders.
Create marketing that cuts through the noise using strategy to inform decisions.
Apply integrated thinking across channels, products, and audiences while maintaining brand consistency.
Incorporate consumer insights to influence work and improve customer experiences.
Understand project goals, take direction, ask clarifying questions, and present work clearly to varied audiences.
At least 2 years of experience in Direct Mail with understanding of Adobe InDesign.
Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
Bachelor's degree or military experience preferred.
