The Attorney in this position is primarily responsible for performing administrative prosecution of violations for assigned professions under the jurisdiction of the department including Chapter 455, Florida Statutes, and all applicable practice acts. This position is supervised and works under the direction of the Attorney Supervisor for Division of Professions Legal Unit. Analyzes violations of statutes or administrative rules for regulated professions and recommends appropriate action; Researches/drafts/reviews/amends pleadings, complaints, motions, dismissal orders, consent orders, settlement agreements and memoranda of law; Reviews, edits and evaluates proposed rule packages; Prosecutes and defends enforcement actions before the Division of Administrative Hearings and the agency's informal hearing officer. Skill in drafting legal documents; Ability to conduct legal research; Ability to recognize and act on emerging issues and shifting priorities; Ability to travel. Must have a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association. Must be a current member of The Florida Bar or pass the Florida Bar exam within one year of appointment to this position.
