General Adjuster - Detroit - Remote, MI, US

McLarens is searching for a General Adjuster who will work in a designated region with travel as needed to resolve various types of losses. The role’s main responsibilities include managing the resolution of first and third‑party claim exposures from coverage, investigative, and loss establishment perspectives.

Receive and review claim intake daily.

Visit insured/risk to investigate cause, circumstances, extent of loss, and damage.

Review policy coverage and raise questions with insurers, where appropriate, and recommend resolutions.

Consult with construction contractors, engineers, and other experts for the purpose of determining damages.

Timely reporting to clients with clear and comprehensive content.

Communicate effectively with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, independent and field adjusters.

Effectively manage claims and liaise with insured, insurer, broker, retained experts, etc.

Other duties as instructed by Leadership, including out‑of‑territory travel and catastrophe response, as needed.

3‑5 years of commercial/residential property claims experience.

Appropriate state adjuster license(s).

Regional claims experience.

Experience handling complex commercial losses preferred.

Some experience with commercial and residential ISO policies to include manuscript interpretations.

Knowledge of Xactimate or other estimating platforms.

Knowledge of the independent claims adjusting business to include familiarity with local jurisdictional requirements and claim practices.

Travel to inspection sites. (Move about indoors and outdoors to conduct inspections. (Ability to operate a laptop/computer, phone, other office productivity machinery (calculator, printer, etc.), Manual dexterity and coordination to extend hands and arms in various directions, using fingers in repetitive motion for keyboarding and writing.
