Duties

Provide direct care for acutely ill patients who are moderately stable with an elevated risk for instability.

Provide high intensity care and vigilance.

Foster a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals.

Contribute professional nursing perspective in discussions with the interdisciplinary team.

Provide care appropriate to the biopsychosocial needs of the population served. This knowledge includes an understanding of the changes associated with aging and principles of growth and development relevant to the adult and geriatric population.

Practice requirements include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). All RNs will be trained in ACLS certification within one year of practice on the unit.
