Senior Underwriter (Life Insurance)

Senior Bulk UnderwriterThis role requires expert Non-QM mortgage underwriting and credit knowledge, strong organizational skills, and a proven track record of excellent client service, sound judgment, and problem-solving. Coordinate with the Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to federal and state regulatory requirements.Collaborate with the Aspire Credit Team to review guidelines and identify and recommend credit policy and underwriting guideline revisions.Provide Internal Bulk Underwriting ResourcesMaintain operational procedures and make suggested updates that optimize workflow efficiency for the bulk credit review process while providing excellent customer service.Serve as the first-level escalation point for guideline and loan program scenarios, exception requests, appraisal reviews, and related process questions.Excel knowledge (ex. Monitor productivity to ensure performance standards are maintained, including underwriting audits.Coordinate with Third-Party ResourcesCoordinate with and provide feedback to third-party due diligence firms to ensure quality loan reviews, acceptable service level standards, and clear communication.Participate in evaluating third-party services that manage loan risk and enhance productivity, including appraisal products, fraud and verification services, and credit evaluation tools.Support of Process and Technology DevelopmentProvide recommendations for workflow efficiencies consistent with policies and process flows.Coordinate documentation and feedback with business analysts or project managers to support the development of automated workflows for efficient, scalable operations.Bachelor's degree recommended.Expert underwriting knowledge and extensive experience with Non-QM and Jumbo mortgage products.proficient with loan origination systems, automated underwriting engines, and electronic document management.Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and charts; able to create and edit content in Word and PowerPoint for presentations, training, and reporting required.Occasional travel required.The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
