Hospital Oncology Registered Nurse

Oncology Nurse
We are seeking a dedicated Oncology Nurse to provide comprehensive care for patients with various cancer diagnoses. The ideal candidate will have experience in both inpatient and outpatient oncology settings, with a focus on supporting adult and geriatric populations. This role involves medication administration, patient education, and care coordination to enhance patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Administer IV chemotherapy and blood products, ensuring safe and effective delivery.
Monitor patients during chemotherapy treatments, identifying and communicating any abnormal lab values.
Provide care and management of implanted ports, PICC lines, and other central lines.
Perform specialized procedures such as Foley catheter installations and peripheral IV insertions.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and support resources.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including pharmacy and social services, to coordinate patient care.
Document clinical information and patient care in Epic Beacon.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an oncology setting.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Certified Nurse (ONCC) certification preferred.
Proficient in accessing and managing ports and administering various infusions.
Strong knowledge of chemotherapy protocols and regulations.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Working Conditions
Support provided by an intensivist and medical oncologist available daily, with NP coverage 1-2 days per week.
Work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment with an average daily census of 25 patients.
Free parking is available on-site.
Scrub color required: Navy Blue.
Special Equipment
Use of Alaris infusion pumps and CADD infusion pumps for medication administration.
Lab centrifuge for processing specimens.
