Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients.

The Clinic RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members in an outpatient clinic setting. Clinic RNs are pivotal members of the care delivery team headed by the physician and have specialized knowledge, skills and ability pertinent to ambulatory care patient needs. Scope of performance includes prioritization and triage of care delivery, implementing established standing orders and protocols, performing procedures and therapies consistent with training and licensure.

Scope of Performance

Perform general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures.

Obtain patient consent for care and ensure patient confidentiality.

Obtain and document health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors and assess disease condition.

Provide patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations.

Execute prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administer prescribed medications, and monitor and document treatment progress and patient response. Refer to/consult with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns.

Educate patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.

Document patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.

Participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.

Track quality assurance data and monitor for acute and chronic care management.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board.

Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

IBCLC certification preferred and/or wound‑care certification preferred.

Additional Information

Assist with provider results, support lactation consultations, provide wound care services.

Location & Schedule

City: Miles City, Montana.

Unit: Supports both the Holy Rosary OB/GYN Clinics and the Holy Rosary General Surgery Clinic.

Shift: Full time (40 budgeted hours). Either five 8‑hour shifts or four 10‑hour shifts per week.

Benefits & Compensation

Hourly rate: $29.91 – $45.33 (actual rate dependent on experience).
