The Health Services Agency is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and leadership-driven Physical Therapist Supervisor to join our team. This is a working supervisor role dedicated to serving children with complex medical conditions through the California Children’s Services (CCS) Medical Therapy Program (MTP). Application Deadline: Under medical direction, the physical therapist supervisor plans and provides therapy for physically disabled pediatric clients (ages 0–21) eligible for the California Children’s Services Medical Therapy Program. This classification requires specialized knowledge in pediatric care, physical therapy laws and regulations, and will work independently and on an interdisciplinary team with parents and other professionals.

Acting in a leadership capacity, the supervisor assigns, reviews, and directs the work of staff physical therapists. They are responsible for training staff, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring task completion aligns with established policies. This lead role carries greater responsibility and judgment latitude, directly assisting the Chief Phys/Occupational Therapist. This position is subject to overtime, standby, and callback assignments, and performs related duties as required.

This position is within a dual classification for the Physical/Occupational Therapist. This recruitment is for the Physical Therapist III.

Provide physical therapy/occupational therapy evaluations and appropriate treatments;

Reviewclinical record, medical prescription and/or physician referral to develop treatment plans;

Maintainaccurate clinical records and preparewritten patient progress reports;

Attendclinics, case conferences, staff meetings, and in-service training;

Evaluate for and order adaptive and durable medical equipment and instruct patients and caregivers in its use;

Participate in the IEP process and represent the Medical Therapy Program;

Providegeneral direction and oversees the Therapy Aides, volunteers and student interns;

Supervise, assign, review and coordinate the work of the other Therapists;

Provide direct supervision, training, mentorship, and performance evaluation for physical therapists;

Support program operations, including workflow coordination, quality improvement efforts and regulatory compliance; Coordinate staff training, professional development, and orientation for new hires or clinical interns.

Organize and implement therapy treatment programs;

Explain the techniques involved in a wide variety of therapy modalities and procedures;

Interpret and adapt physician orders and/or written reports;

Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;

Principles, methods, materials and equipment used in physical or occupational therapy;

Anatomy, physiology, neuromuscular function and dysfunction, kinesiology, and neuromotor development;

Pathology and injuries which result in physical impairment;

Current trends and new developments in therapy techniques; The growth and development of children.

Current licensure with the Physical Therapy Board of California; Two (2) years progressively responsible physical therapy work experience. Current licensure with the California Board of Occupational Therapy; Two (2) years progressively responsible occupational therapy work experience. Current licensure with the Physical Therapy Board of California OR

Current licensure with the California Board of Occupational Therapy; One (1) year full-time experience as a Physical/Occupational Therapist II at Stanislaus County.

Incumbents may also be subject to overtime, standby, callback, weekend, holiday and shift assignments as identified in their MOU (Memorandum of Understanding).
