Facility Maintenance Handyman

Facilities Technician – Refrigerated Food Production Facility (Linden, NJ)We are seeking a skilled and reliable Facilities Technician to support the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of our refrigerated food production facility. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance in an industrial or food manufacturing environment.Objectives of this Role· Assists with maintaining building security and immediately responds to building emergencies during scheduled shift · Monitors and replaces light bulbs in all assigned facilities, as needed · Assists with departmental and employee moves · Hangs pictures and shelving, as needed · Dismantles and installs furniture · Transports goods or equipment as assigned · Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Maintenance Manager Responsible for all powered equipment, unscheduled maintenance and preventive maintenance · Provides immediate assistance to automated production equipment, troubleshoot issues andSkills and Requirements· Must be mechanically inclined, with a safety-first mentality · Must have a "Can Do Attitude" and be Self-starter as well as a team player · Must be able to take direction as well as ownership of given tasks · Understand and follow oral and written instructions · Ability to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks · Ability to work effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints · Ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools · Must be able to utilize/view a PC and/or monitor · Must be able to walk, bend, stand and reach for extended periods of time · Must be able to work at heights of 20 feet · Must be able to work independently without direct supervision · Able to work in a refrigerated environment most of the day · Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation · Must be willing and able to work in a refrigerated environment (10°-40°) · Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours with or without reasonable accommodation · Must be willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach with or without reasonable accommodation.Working Conditions:Work is primarily conducted in the office and food production environment. This position may require night, holiday and/or weekend work. Compensation: $26.00 per hour
