Schedule

• Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Assignment Details

• Contract Length: 10 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• If no corrections experience: Minimum 1 year of emergency department experience, or 2 years of medical-surgical nursing in a busy facility
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, MOAB (MOAB training provided during the first week, must pass)
• Vaccines: Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine optional

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide routine and emergency care to inmates, including triage and assessment of new admissions
• Conduct detox rounds and manage substance withdrawal as necessary
• Respond to sick/urgent care requests from inmates
• Coordinate referrals for dental, mental health, and other provider services
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including pharmacy and rapid response teams
• Perform nursing procedures, including wound care and monitoring vital signs

Compliance / Notes

• Documentation due: Submit required documents by 10 days prior to start
• Drug screen: Required within 30 days of start
• Minimum assignment length: 10 weeks
• No local candidates within a 100-mile radius; non-local driver's license required on file
