Description:
The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care.
Utilizes the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures.
Monitors and evaluates patient functional status.
Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients.
Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care with consideration for age, cultural, and psychosocial factors.
Documents steps of the nursing process.
Utilizes proper medical terminology and addresses problems and progress toward goals.
Facilitates patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and patient education resources.
Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate.
Supports unit and hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities.
Attends in-services, meets unit education standards, and completes variance reports.
Exercises independent judgment in making decisions from diversified alternatives.
Coordinates activities of others without direct supervision.
Leads others in the same work performed.
Works directly with patients and/or customers.
Interacts with internal and external customers via telephone or face-to-face communication.
Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and staff.
Frequently works with individuals at the director level or above.
