As a Paramedic in the Emergency Department, you will provide immediate medical treatment to patients presenting with various critical injuries, illnesses and concerns. In this role, fast thinking and processing are essential, as every second counts in an emergency. Your tireless efforts help improve outcomes and make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, their families and your fellow caregivers.
A caregiver in this role works a day/evening rotation from 11:00 a.m. – Provide immediate medical treatment to injured or ill patients on-site and/or during transport to hospital
Maintain equipment.
Administer appropriate emergency medical care, including life support procedures, decontamination protocols, obtaining EKG readings and vital statistics monitoring.
Communicate with medical personnel at hospital, report/record observations and follow directives until report and hand-off at hospital if on the Transport Team.
Navigate Ambulance to scene of accident in response to emergency call, if on the Transport Team.
Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic Training Program
Current Florida licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP)
Clinical experience through an EMS Paramedic Training program
International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
One year of experience as an EMT or Paramedic
