Our range of research & development, engineering, prototype manufacturing, test & validation, and low-rate production capability help our customers bring their high-quality products to market faster.****The CNC Machinist II performs intermediate-level machining tasks with minimal supervision. This role involves programming, setting up and operating CNC dual-spindle lathes for low to medium volume precision machining. Develop and modify machining programs using CAM software (Mastercam preferred)* Experience or familiarity operating CMX, NHX, DMU65, DMU50, and VCF CNC machines* Design and build tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions* Perform machine setup including tooling offsets, work offsets, and prove-out of new programs* Interpret complex engineering drawings, including GD&T* Inspect in-process and finished parts using precision measuring equipment* Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues to improve quality and efficiency* Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical challenges* Operate basic shop equipment including bandsaws, manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and shears* Maintain machines, tooling, and work areas in a clean and safe condition* Follow all company safety procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives* Mentor junior machinists and support skill development within the team**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** • High School diploma or GED required.• 3-10 years of CNC machining experience. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:*** Ability to independently program, set up, and operate CNC lathes with minimal supervision* Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds/speeds, and workholding* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T* Experience using precision inspection equipment* Experience with dual-spindle CNC lathes* Experience with mill-turn machining* Familiarity with DN Solutions lathes* Experience with BMT65 live tooling systems* Mastercam programming experience* Experience machining tight-tolerance, high-performance, or defense-related components* Familiarity with FANUC-based controls* Proficiency with Windows-based software (Excel, Outlook, etc.)* Ownership of standard machinist toolsOshkosh is committed to working with and offering reasonable accommodations to job applicants with disabilities.
