Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as an Entry-Level Civil / Water Resources Engineer in Columbia, MD; Herndon VA; Washington, DC.
Responsibilities include:

Assisting the design team with preparation of roadway drainage and stormwater designs
Performing Hydrology and hydraulics design calculation and analyzing existing projects
Coordinating with multiple utility owners, MDOT, municipalities and regulatory agencies
Preparing or modifying reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects
Preparing design computations and quantity estimates
Assisting with quantity take-offs and cost estimates for projects
Some travel will be required
A valid driver's license and frequent travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have the following:

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering or relevant field from an accredited college or university
EIT or ability to pass FE exam within six months of hire date
Transportation and/or hydrology and hydraulics related coursework
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation software experience
Ability to read engineering plans, contours, and drafting
Previous civil engineering internship
Utility coordination and design experience
Municipal engineering design experience

Salary Range: $68,000-$85,000 (annual) – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
