Research Fellow - Biochemistry

Position Summary

Join a highly technical analytical method qualification team in a dynamic work environment where you will participate in contracted client analytical programs as a member of the Analytical Development Department. This role is responsible for executing method qualification protocols and performing elementary data analysis in the analytical laboratories.

Position Responsibilities

Performs routine testing or protocol driven method qualifications using bio‑analytical techniques such as (but not limited to) HPLC, SDS‑PAGE, SDS‑CGE, ELISA, and UV‑Vis.

Regularly exercises technical discretion in the execution and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project goals.

Makes detailed observations and carries out elementary data analysis.

Understands experiments and conducts troubleshooting analysis.

Maintains and updates knowledge of instrumentation.

Electronic notebook upkeep and writing skills.

Maintains familiarity with current scientific literature and remains professionally up to date.

Assures proper labeling, handling, and storage of all chemicals used in the area; ensures proper labeling and disposition of hazardous waste and adheres to all safety requirements, attending all required safety and health training, including hazardous waste handling.

Reacts to change productively and handles other essential tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

B.A. or B.S. in chemistry, biochemistry or related area (or equivalent training) and 2–3 years of experience, or a Master’s degree and 0–2 years of experience.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents and write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of problems and to deal with formulas, scientific equations, graphs, and other abstract and concrete variables.

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, permutations, frequency distribution, test reliability, variance analysis, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Salary Range

$63,000–$80,000. Salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.
