Research And Development Engineer III

Applies research theories, principles, statistics, and models when conducting experiments and research activities. Summarizes research results and communicates findings to internal and external bodies. Assesses the scope of research projects and ensures projects are on time and within budget. Develops technical documentation for all projects and institutional knowledge.
Researches and analyzes data such as specifications, and industry standards to determine feasibility of application
Develops and carries out test plans, supervises process trials internally or at outside laboratories.
Designs or develops new products, systems, and test procedures.
Evaluates equipment and processes to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Works with engineering and shop personnel in fabrication of prototype products and development of methods and procedures for testing products.
Reports immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Understands and observes all safety guidelines and assures quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.
Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to write and read English
Bachelor's in Science in Engineering, or closely related field.
Five years prior experience in a related field, industry, or work environment is required.
Experience in coatings synthesis, characterization, and application testing.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or similar programs.

Required to work with various chemicals, adhesives, and composites.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
