Utility Steward/DishwasherMeriwether Godsey is looking for a full-time utility steward/dishwasher responsible for maintaining the sanitation of the kitchen, cafeteria, and dining room at a private school located in the heart of Washington, DC.Full-timeMust be available to work: Monday-Friday, between 7a-5p and weekends as needed$18-$22 per hourWhat the Utility Steward will do:Set up and operate dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans: scrape, separate, and organize itemsNote and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediatelyTransport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areasClean cafeteria areas throughout and after meal period and replenish to ensure service without interruptionSet up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pansMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, to include sweeping, mopping floors, and removal of trashAssist with receiving and storage of food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safetyPerform all duties in accordance with food safety and sanitation best practicesOther duties, as assignedWhat the Utility Steward will need:Must pass an FBI background checkPrior dishwashing experience (1 year preferred)Strong work ethic in a fast-paced environmentFlexibility: ability to switch between tasks and responsibilities as neededReliability and a willingness to work in a hot, humid environmentAbility to stand/move about for long periods of time and lift 50lbs.Ability to adhere to company safety and sanitation proceduresGood communication skills and a great attitudeWhat the Utility Steward will get:Competitive Pay, Uniforms, Meals, Training and mentorship, and Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental, etc.)Meriwether Godsey offers significant opportunities for growth and career advancement.
