Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a Middle School Life Skills classroom in Eugene, Oregon. Position: Special Education Teacher
Grade Level: Middle School
Contract Length: 8 Months
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Pay Rate: Up to $56/hour (Local Candidates)
Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides quality educational services to students with special needs. The teacher will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, develop and implement individualized educational programs, provide specialized instruction, and partner with general education staff to support student success.
This position is within a Middle School Life Skills Program serving students with significant support needs. Deliver specialized academic and functional life skills instruction
Participate in team meetings and educational planning
Provide consultation and support to general education staff
Active Oregon Special Education Teaching License
Ability to work onsite for the duration of the school year
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
Valid state teaching certification
Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred
Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
Experience in self-contained special education settings
Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
Full school-year stability

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
