This position is located at WRNMMC NICoE, DEPT of Clinical Operations Service, Clinical Support in Bethesda, Maryland.

Clinic Work Setting - outpatient clinic- and will follow hospital Safety Precautions.

Hours will be during Clinic hours 0700-1700 Monday-Friday
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Help
Obtain information from patient and/or family to identify major complaints, symptoms, or reason for seeking health care.
Provide individualized nursing care to patients based upon the physician's medical plan, the nursing assessment and the physical, mental and emotional needs of the patient.
Set up and maintain a sterile field.
Enter data related to the record of patients in computer systems; electronic medical records.
Perform administrative and logistical tasks as a member of the healthcare team by assisting with checking patients into the system , completing records and other clerical duties in the absence of the medical receptionist.

This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random drug testing, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
This position requires the incumbent to have Tuberculosis testing.
This position requires the incumbent to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

Basic Requirement for Practical Nurse:
A current license to practice as a practical or vocational nurse in a State, territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia; Applications of candidates possessing a license must be accompanied by a certified or photostatic copy of the license, a notarized statement attesting to the fact, or a citation of the license number and State issuing it. Non-licensed candidates who have completed their training may be appointed subject to obtaining the required license during the probationary period. Experience: One year of nursing experience in a hospital, outpatient clinic or other supervised medical, nursing, or patient care facility that provided a practical knowledge of human body structure and sterile techniques and procedures, performing such duties as obtaining patient vital signs (i.e., respiration, temperature, blood pressure and heart rate), administering medications, and entering appropriate patient-related data into electronic medical records. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
