Description of job: A Step-Down RN at Kaiser West LA provides specialized nursing care to patients requiring cardiac monitoring, assessing vital signs, interpreting ECG rhythms, and responding to changes in patient conditions. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and deliver compassionate care in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment.
Qualifications:
Current BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certifications
Current CA RN license
1+ year experience required
Responsibilities:
Continuously monitor and assess patients' cardiac rhythms using telemetry technology to detect abnormalities.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments as ordered by physicians, ensuring accurate documentation.
Perform routine patient assessments, documenting findings, and communicating changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions to support recovery and prevent readmissions.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and modify individualized care plans based on patient needs.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including safety protocols and infection control measures, to ensure a safe patient environment.
