We are looking for an enthusiastic Chaplain PRN to help us reach our goals. Shares in the ministry of caring for the spiritual, and emotional needs of the patients, their families, and the staff of the hospital. Provides religious counseling and supportive care and guidance. Assists patients to understand more fully life's events as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-being.

Under the general direction and supervision of the VP of Catholic Mission and Identity and within established departmental policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following functions:

Provides sacramental ministry, religious counseling and crisis intervention as appropriate.

Makes ethics consult referrals for patients, family and staff pursuant to the CMC Clinical Ethics Services policy. Participates in patient care conferences and discharge planning rounds.

Participates in departmental quality management activities. Maintains statistical reports of activities and submits to the Director, Office of Catholic Identity. Documents patient's visitations and logs interactions for interdepartmental communication.

Attends departmental staff meetings and serves on hospital and community committees.

Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities and to possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without the aid of mechanical devices to safely perform the essential functions of the job: Familiarity with quality improvement initiatives.

Ability to transport self to and from off-site locations.

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Theology or in a related field.

Three years in hospital ministry preferred.
