Hospital Medicine - Hospitalist (Physician #)

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is seeking a per diem Hospitalist to join their nationally recognized team. This role offers the opportunity to provide specialized, efficient, and coordinated care for hospitalized patients across four hospitalist pods in Houston. Join a multi-specialty clinic with over 900 medical providers dedicated to high-quality care and patient satisfaction.Practice InfoThe Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Hospitalist Program provides specialized, efficient and coordinated care for hospitalized patients.The per diem hospitalist has the option to take daytime and/or nighttime shifts at any of the four hospitalist pods: Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, Fort Bend, Woodlands and Vintage.Hospitalists have the support from critical care physicians and subspecialists.There is no requirement to perform any procedure.ResponsibilitiesRounding and coordinating care of already admitted patients during daytime shifts.Admitting responsibilities from the ER during some daytime shifts (7am to 7pm).Responding to ER calls and admitting patients during nighttime shifts (7pm to 7am).Staying in house for the duration of nocturnal shifts and being responsible for all calls regarding admissions to the assigned hospital.Efficiently managing patients in hospital and interacting with specialists to coordinate care.Transitioning follow-up care to the daytime hospitalist safely and effectively.Participating in hospital committees, initiatives, and KSC Hospital Service/IM Department activities.CompensationCompensation for this specialty generally ranges from $125 to $186.86 per hour.Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role.BenefitsA comprehensive benefits packageIncentive and recognition programsEquity stock purchase401k contributionShift & SchedulePer diem hospitalist has the option to take daytime and/or nighttime shifts.Daytime shifts are from 7am to 7pm.Nighttime shifts are from 7pm to 7am (number of shifts can be decided amongst the team to ensure coverage every night).The nocturnal hospitalist will be required to stay in house for the duration of the shift.RequirementsMedical Degree (MD, DO)Accredited Residency trainingLicensed or willing to be licensed in the State of TexasBoard Certified or Board EligiblePreferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency
