Job Description** **Summary** Under the supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapist, the Radiation Therapist delivers prescribed radiation dose to patients, and simulate patients as determined by the radiation oncologist. Performs simulation on patients for the purpose of setting up daily radiation treatments with a high degree of accuracy as prescribed by the radiation oncologist.* Delivers radiation treatments to appropriate patients according to chart specifications with high degree of accuracy utilizing verification or port films to document radiation placement to ensure high quality of patient care.* On initial treatment visit and subsequent visits, as outlined in policy and procedure manual, determines treatment accuracy utilizing verification or port films to document radiation placement to ensure high quality patient care.* Schedules patients utilizing radiation oncology computer system according to guidelines developed by Chief-Radiation Therapist thereby ensuring efficient patient throughput.* Documents simulation and treatment data in patient chart to assure compliance with radiation oncology prescription.* Maintains daily statistics for review with Chief-Radiation Therapist and various administrative personnel and other agencies to assist in planning for the future needs of department.* Utilizes department and hospital computer systems to accurately enter charges and other patient information resulting in the appropriate billing and tracking.* Minimum Qualifications*** Specialized Diploma Graduate of AMA approved radiation therapy school required.* RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists **Additional Qualifications** **Physical Demands** Lift and carry 40-50 lbs.
