Advanced Systems Engineer

We are ready to hire an experienced systems engineer to a member of a cross-functional team responsible for the design, development and lifecycle support of a variety of submarine and acoustic systems. This role includes working both in our lab and at partner sites as the team develops and fields both prototypes and production systems. As a member of a cross-functional team, you will work closely with engineers across a variety of hardware, software and integrated product programs to provide solutions that meet our customers’ needs.

Participate in the full engineering lifecycle from concept to production

Contribute to all phases of system development requirements analysis, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system architecture evaluation and trade studies, system integration, and system verification and validation

Help identify technical risks and develop mitigation plans

Carry out reliability, maintainability, and availability (RM&A) analyses of components and systems to ensure designs meet operational and sustainment requirements

Perform verification and validation planning, execution, and reporting

Support environmental qualification testing (EQT) to verify system performance under required operating conditions

Creative thinking with the ability to apply technical standards and methodologies to develop solutions

Ability to utilize AI to improve system design and engineering processes

Understanding and application of systems engineering principles, concepts, and theories

Systems engineering experience with hardware and integrated hardware/software systems

Flexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)

This position is fully on-site as part of the Manassas facility.
