The Elections Division of the County Clerk-Recorder's Office is preparing for the November 3, 2026, Gubernatorial Election and is hiring six (6) intermittent Elections Warehouse Workers . Help support an election that serves every voter across Ventura County's 10 cities. These are intermittent (extra-help) positions and are not eligible for County benefits. Intermittent employees may work up to 1,664 hours per fiscal year.

As an Elections Warehouse Worker, you will perform the manual and clerical work required for the operation of a warehouse including receiving, transporting, stocking, issuing, shipping, inventorying, assembling, packaging, and record keeping. Perform varied inventory management duties in support of multiple functional areas of a central warehouse unit.

This classification is used to fill temporary assignments during local, state, and federal elections.

Elections Worker II: $25.50 Hourly

The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill current temporary/intermittent positions as well as future Extra Help vacancies. therefore, the schedule for the remainder of the process will depend upon when we receive a sufficient number of qualified applications to meet business needs.

Cleans equipment and maintains a clean working area/warehouse.

Assists with verifying quantities of voting equipment to be issued out to vote centers; reviews shipping documents.

Packages voting equipment and materials to be issued to vote centers.

May repair and perform minor maintenance on warehouse equipment by replacing broken and missing parts.

Identifies damaged equipment during functionality and pre-logic accuracy testing and equipment diagnostic.

Inputs and retrieves data from computerized inventory control system.

Collects rental transportation vehicles, loads and delivers voting equipment and materials to designated voting locations.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination of education, training, or experience equivalent to one (1) year of clerical experience AND some experience in inventory control, storekeeping, or warehousing. Must be willing and able to perform routine and repetitive tasks which may include sitting or standing on concrete floor for long periods of time.

Must be willing and able to work in the Elections Division office and vote center locations throughout Ventura County.

Must be able to work flexible hours: early start time, overtime, evenings, holidays, and weekends with little notice and as needed during the entire election cycle and must be able to work October 31, November 1, 2, and 3.

Thorough knowledge of modern office methods and practices; supplies, equipment and parts required in support of the organization's operation; basic computer keyboard and functions; postal regulations as they relate to shipping; packaging methods and procedures; safety rules and regulations in the operation of equipment and vehicles.

Thorough ability to: perform simple repairs on equipment; sort, label, and organize equipment into its proper designated areas; operate materials handling and safety equipment; Working Conditions: The warehouse environment may have disagreeable elements such as noise, dust, fumes, or machinery that require exercise of safety precautions.
